I just want to say a big "AMERICA, **** YEAH!" about this ...
But also I wanted to say we should be rewarding WIRELESS protocols. ThunderBolt = Fast, great. Polite golf clap. No AMERICA **** YEAH for ThunderBolt. Everything should be WIRELESS now. 2011 baby!

I predict that in 2015, iOS handset users will still have the highest customer satisfaction and that Apple will be walking away with the lion's share of the smartphone industry's profits.
Meaning there will be more grumpy non-iPhone users and more grumpy HTC/Nokia/Samsung/Motorola/LG shareholders.
By 2015, the iPhone will be implanted in the back of our necks and interface directly with our brain. It will get battery power from our neural system.
I got burned once, and only once with the best Windows Phone of the time, the HTC Rhodium. I hate that phone so much!
All the people I know who got the WinMo7 phone told me it sucks!
M$ is so far behind in this market, and the ITC seems to be smoking barely-legal substances to come up with such hallucinations.

new here to the forums.
i've been patiently waiting for the MBP to be updated before i ordered but wanted to jump on the iPod deal as well which ends the 16th
if one was to place an order and then these are announced the following week, would Apple upgrade you to the comparable machine?

You deserve a bad rap:rolleyes: There is nothing illegal going 5 under. It is illegal to be going 20 over. If you get caught, that is like an auto revocation of your license to give you an idea how serious it is
And you call us laughable? How about you start practicing safe driving habits before you kill someone bud:cool:
What is with your sense of you doing nothing wrong? seriously...the issue lies pretty much all with you as far as I am concerned...
I'm not saying that my speed was legal, but after she brakechecked me, she dropped her speed to under 55mph which is illegal at least in portions of Michigan; there's a thing called a minimum speed limit.

Glad, hoping for a redesign, but probably unlikely, also would be great to see the yellow tint issue resolved..

since Apple lost their claim as the producer of the biggest LCD monitor in the market (30 inch behemoth), maybe Apple will use this event to announce 42 inch Apple Cinema Display.
and what happened to that Apple patent for thousands of small camera embedded on the LCD?
MBP update is very likely, but you won't see Macbook update. processor is limited in quantities and obviously computers with bigger need for faster processor, which is MBP, will be where chips go.
and maybe in this event Apple might present with Adobe for Adobe's upcoming universal softwares.
i don't think Apple will just announce Aperture if they are going to invite guests for a presentation. more than that is coming. maybe Apple projectors. i don't know.
but I know for sure that G5 powerbook is not coming so losers better not cry for that.

Isn't there an aftermarket for this?
Not a real solution. Most people who want matte want the MBP type of option, no glass and real matte screen.

hmmm works fine for me :) Took a while longer to load on the iPod (had ablack screen for about 5 secs) but plays fine.OK Please play on computer and get info - Command i - while playing to know for certain it is 640x480 H.264. On the bottom it says Normal Size: What numbers are there? In Format: it will say H.264 if it was encoded that way. Also what is the FPS Number playing? Should be 30.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I bought a movie (Good Will Hunting) to try out the whole shabang and see the quality for myself. The 1.5Gb download took 6+ hours on my crappy adelphia cable modem (it feels slower every day, what am I paying 50 bucks a month for again?). I was satisfied with the image quality on my 20" Dell widescreen, but sitting at my desk to watch a movie instead of my couch isn't the movie experience I'm going for. Sadly, I probably won't be buying another iTunes movie.
Not that anyone cares.
Imagine how long the download would be if the movie was high def instead of 640 x 480.

How to make it a best seller:
Being a true smart phone, capable of booting Mac OS X mobile (to be released) and thus being used as a wireless computerless remote for Keynote and PowerPoint presentations made on Mac or Windows.
Will sell millions on corporate, education and domestic markets.
With a huge halo effect!!!

If Apple kills the MacPro it is there own fault. I can member when they used to be affordable at $1499 and now they are completely out of my price range for a new computer. I have been using an 867 G4 for TEN YEARS and will finally upgrade to an iMac with more power then 3 867's put together.
1 $1499
Intel Core i7-2600S Processor
(8M Cache, 2.80 GHz)
8GB RAM
2TB HD
AMD Radeon HD 6850 Graphics
Sounds great to me!:)

Apple, please,
BRING BACK THE MAC CUBE concept!
A small yet powerful Mac. But this this at a REASONABLE price, to be a best-seller.
Thanks.

Anyone got numbers on percentage of computer users who play games? I never play games. Am I in a minority?
The target is Windows users, Most windows users between 10 and 25 play some game or another. I have no clue about OS X users on the Macs but probably 20 % do.
Apple is interested in selling hardware and putting a hurt on PC companies like Dell and others. They can sell a heck of a lot of machines to the PC market and double or quatruple their market share in just one year alone. That is what BootCamp is there for.

Interesting. Microsoft calls these files "Programs" and always has. Nothing called an application exists in Windows, it only has programs. Seems maybe MS is a little late to this game, and they're gonna piss all over it for everyone else.
Applications are a type of program. They have been called so since the dawn of time.

I wouldn't give you good odds for WWDC, but you should have your update within less than a month from it.
Merom isn't out at the time of WWDC- it won't be until later in August. It is possible they may let apple take pre-orders if steve wants to really make it a massive attack at WWDC on all parts of the line charging ahead into the next generation, but you never know with him.
Of course the way things are going, for all we know there may really be PB G5s at WWDC, who knows nowadays
But wasnt Yonah supposed to come out in January this year, and Apple released the iMac early January. So tens of thousands of chips must have been shipping before the official release date, I dont see why the same couldn't be true of these new chips.

i REALLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY hope its orange...
as the choice of mobile phones they have at the moment is the poorest i have ever seen in the UK.
ive been waiting on a p990i since march.....still dont have it on orange, was told yesterday it could be end of october now.
i am gauranteed a free upgrade on any handset, so come one apple!!
Do you're self a favour and ask for your pac code when the phon is released. A free upgrade is pretty much to be expected, if you dont ask for the pac code their unlikely to give you any other freebies.
You should always ask for the pac code and then wait for their retention team to give you a call back

What are the odds of them using this new phone idea and turning it into a smartphone, maybe restarting the Newton project? As opposed of just having iTunes compatibale features only?
